the beginning
if you ask jeremy, he would tell you that our first date was at his house watching the shining. if you ask jodi, she’ll tell you (the truth) that our first date was dinner at chili’s over strawberry margaritas. the first time we met was at ucf in figure drawing class, sketching charcoal drawings of naked steve. however, we became friends in a torturous summer class entitled american art history with professor martin (who was known to eat his students for breakfast). we started a study group together, which may be the only reason jodi finished the class with a passing grade. the next semester we were both in the pottery studio quite a bit and continued to be friends. jeremy likes to think he tricked jodi into a first date by inviting her and a mutual friend over to watch a movie, knowing full well that the friend would not be able to make it. jodi does not consider this a date at all, especially since it was a scary movie that she hated. a few weeks later jeremy officially invited jodi to dinner, however jodi still didn’t think it was a date until jeremy picked up the bill! to this day we have no idea when our first date was…we know it’s sometime between halloween and thanksgiving!

how we got engaged
in case you haven’t heard the story yet…jeremy proposed in rome on the first day of our italy trip. we had just taken a tour of the coliseum and palatine hill and were strolling through the roman forum, when jeremy unbeknownst to jodi, pulled out a diamond ring, got down on one knee and proposed. being the romantic that she is jodi said, “get up, of course i’ll marry you!”

favorite memories
the first time jodi brought jeremy home to meet her family was for her parent’s surprise 25th anniversary party. although jeremy made a very good impression, he still managed to explode a whole bottle of champagne all over the kitchen!

when we were in college we painted jodi’s entire apartment orange in one night…too bad it took longer then that to paint it back to white when jodi moved out!

for our last semester at ucf we had to put together an exhibition for our bfa seminar. jodi remembers staying up all night helping jeremy finish his pieces before they were due the next morning. lots of barbed wire and cut fingers!

we went to the bahamas with mike and michele on a 4 seater cessna. we stayed on a tiny island and spend a lot of time snorkeling. jeremy remembers having to save jodi from a swarm of jellyfish.

we’ve been told we are quite the jet setters! a few of our favorite trips have been: rome, florence and venice italy, a trip to the bahamas on a private plane (thanks mike!), whitewater rafting in georgia, the annual trip to islamorada in the fl keys with mike and michele, las vegas last summer (even though it was 120 degrees in the shade), visiting sari in boston, and of course our many trips to nc and fl to visit family and friends!

registries
ok, so we know that it is considered poor etiquette to post your registries…and we don’t want you to feel pressure to buy us a gift. however, we never know what to get anyone and have always found it helpful when people post their registries…we think everyone should do this for their birthdays, hanukkah, christmas, and any other gift giving occasion!
